Difficulty going up gearbox...3rd_4th

Postby Big Al » Sat Jul 15, 2017 7:45 pm

I'm sometimes having difficulty going up the gearbox,,,sometimes 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th.... I get the feeling the gearbox shift lever is in the wrong position to suit my foot,,, feels like it needs moving down a bit to give me better purchase when going up the box.....
Anyone had same problem ?????

I haven't struck any issues up or down. When I'm riding, the sole of my boot is just lightly touching the top of the gear lever. This feels like it's in just the right spot for me. To change up I have to get my toe under the lever, whereas to change down is a very easy dab on the lever. I have always felt it's more likely that I will need to change down in a hurry than up.

Occasionally I miss a gear but I think it's due to my lazy footwork rather than the bike's fault.

Think everyone is different, with different sized boots as well.

But the lever is easily adjusted by the shift rod.
