Yamaha MT-09 Tracer fuel economy compared

Postby SkyRider » Sun Sep 20, 2015 1:42 pm

Hi guys could you post some fuel economy information on this page please?

I'm averaging 61mpg at the moment. That's mainly motorway with some fast country roads. I find it hard to stay within the legal speed on highways. Now that I have the high screen I don't feel much wind at all sitting at 75 mph. I wonder if the high screen would reduce fuel economy further.

Cheers and ride safe.

I do believe going faster will have the desired effect on your fuel economy   but I'm actually running at around 62 mpg on a thrashing ride out.

I can confirm my bike cost some money and uses some fuel. I choose not to analyse with any greater detail.

I'm giving up on this now. It will never be as good as a 125 or 500 so no point paying too much attention to the fuel economy. I'm having fun instead.

I am using the "cold snap" as an my excuse, down to 62 mpg !! Been up to 6000 rpm MAX.....I DO value my "clean " licence for 48 years & will not see that figure again on my speedo

I've been getting 62mpg from the start, with the warmer weather I have been getting up to 70, I'm not a hard rider but I don't muck around either. Of course we have km down here, I still like to work it back to mpg, just to make sure I understand :?
