Lower handlebar holders recall notice

Postby andrewl » Tue Apr 18, 2017 10:41 am

Hi Guys,

Just received a recall notice letter from Yamaha for my Tracer regarding the possibility of the Lower Handlebar Holders becoming loose. Not seen any issues myself but getting it booked into local dealer asap.

Anyone else seen this?

thanks

Andrew

This recall affects MT09, Tracer and XSR900, being their best selling models I guess it's a massive hassle for Yamaha. I didn't notice any issues with the part though.

Had my letter yesterday, called my local Yamaha dealer and they were unaware of the recall, oh well booked the bike in for a few weeks time.

Everyone of the original owners & newer owners if you changed address with Yamaha should have had the recall letter.

I have the Gilles risers on mine, so don't really need them, but I've claimed for them anyway, so i still have all the original parts when i come to sell it.

Recall now been done..at the dealer LESS than 20 mins...it seems there are "hundreds" to be done & to include new showroom models, goodness knows what the total cost to Yamaha will be...but better to be safe than sorry ;)
