Givi D2122S screen for MT-09 Tracer fitted

Postby SkyRider » Fri Jul 08, 2016 11:32 am

New screen up! Wind noise is still a bit too much though.

The high setting has lifted the wind over my visors and nothing on my shoulders. However there's more through the lower gaps so the outter part of my 6 packs got a bit of beating. It's as noisy as the stock I think but the wind protection element is better.

The low setting creates two streams of air directly hitting my collarbones. It's les noisy but I could feel the breeze at chin level.

At either setting the hand guards will not hit the screen which is nice.

I think it looks good in the smoky colour and matches my GIVI top box. However still not 100% sure if I want to keep it. My Yamaha factory touring screen is far superior for wind protection but looks ugly.

Stickers are gone. Looks like I'm keeping this screen now.

Wind protection is slightly better than the stock but keeping it for the look more than functionality. At the tallest setting it seemed calm enough for motorways and kept my shoulders out of the wind.

 On fitting the taller"Yamaha" screen found I needed to remove the coloured trim off the handguards in order to clear the screen when on "full" lock on fitting the Givi screen [on highest setting] can this coloured trim be left on....cosmetically the Givi screen looks better than the "Yamaha" product & is cheaper !!

No need to remove the plastics like you do with the tall Yamaha screen. I've decided not to put the Yamaha one on this winter because the givi does a good job just like the tall Yamaha one.

Did you fit the Givi screen and are you happy with it?
